What do I need in order to rent a property?

Should you be interested in renting a property out with Dowen, we require proof of identity, references, bank statement, salary slips, proof of previous mortgages or tenancies and you will also need to complete an application form.

Are there any initial costs to rent a property?

The set up fee is £255 at the time of application, if the application is declined then we will refund this amount. If the application is accepted but you decide to not go through with the rental property, then set up fee will be retained by us.

In the instance my application is accepted, how do I proceed?

Before a property is occupied a tenant will need to pay a minimum of 1 months rent and a bond or damages deposit this will usually be equivalent to the minimum of 1 month rents.

How much does a conveyance cost when selling a home?

At Dowen we provide a flat conveyance rate on properties we’re selling on your behalf, this is priced up to £1 million and the fee is £474.

How much does a conveyance cost when buying a home?

The conveyance fee when buying a home depends on the cost of property and the cost of the stamp duty.

What is stamp duty?

You must pay stamp duty if you buy a property or land over a certain price in England, the threshold is £125,000 for residential properties.
