Good Connectivity Revealed As Desirable Feature For Homebuyers
When it comes to finding a new house, you might well think that location would trump everything – but it seems that the homebuyer of the 21st century has other concerns that might just take priority.
New research from GoCompare Home Insurance has just revealed that connectivity is a key concern for many would-be purchasers. While choosing a good area and one with a low crime rate, proximity to local shops and near a good GP or dentist are all still top of the list when it comes to finding the perfect house, a good reliable broadband connection was also cited as a hugely desirable feature.
A reliable and clear mobile phone signal is also a top priority, as is superfast broadband and a landline telephone.
The price comparison site’s Ben Wilson said: “Location will always be a key factor for homebuyers. After all, while you can improve a property you can’t move it. But it is too simple these days to say that it is the only consideration. Homeowners also expect to be connected in a way that wasn’t envisaged even ten years ago.”
Other features you might like to make sure your house has in order to facilitate a quick sale and get the top price you’re looking for include double glazing and central heating, as well as a garden, a driveway or off-road parking, and secure windows and doors.
With house prices falling at the moment, however, it might be worth sitting tight and waiting a few months before listing your house to allow the market to settle down.
