The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is part of an EU drive to reduce carbon emissions in member countries. When a house is listed an energy assessor is appointed to inspect the property and produce an EPC which indicates how energy efficient the property is and what could be done to improve its energy efficiency, reduce fuel bills and as such carbon emissions. The EPC comes as part of a HIP.
When you list your property for sale or to rent an EPC is mandatory and required by law.
